This is a unique chance to sit down one-on-one with David Severn, a leading voice in contemporary British documentary photography.

Based in Nottingham, David’s work explores themes of deindustrialisation, working-class culture, and social life in post-industrial communities—subjects deeply rooted in his own upbringing in a former coal mining town in the East Midlands. His evocative images have been exhibited internationally, including at the Martin Parr Foundation, FORMAT International Photography Festival, and the Singapore International Photography Festival.

David has worked on assignments for The New York Times, Le Monde, The Financial Times Weekend Magazine, The Times (London), and MONOCLE, and was named one of Magnum Photos’ “30 Under 30” in 2015. In 2020, he was nominated for the prestigious FOAM Paul Huf Award.
