What you will learn at this event.
Join us in-store with award-winning photographer David Gilliver for a miniatures macro photography workshop.
"Prepare to enter a world where stems of broccoli appear as large as trees and watermelon pips are as big as boulders."
Since the late 1990s, David has created a vast portfolio of unique miniature scenes that are now well-recognised by the creative community. David will begin this workshop by sharing his experiences as an early pioneer of this quirky photography style and how he developed his style through his choice of equipment, camera settings and lighting.
David will demonstrate how he creates his miniature scenes and allow you to make your own diorama to photograph. With David’s professional guidance (and a suitcase full of props and figures), you’ll get firsthand insight into taking macro photos of miniature worlds.
This workshop will cover:
• Planning and setting up a scene
• Depth of field and composition
• Equipment and techniques
• Effective studio lighting
• Highlighting fine details
• Basic post-production editing
