Light for Beauty Portraiture

Join us in-store for a studio beauty photography workshop with Rossella Vanon.

Rossella will begin this workshop by sharing her journey as a professional photographer and her approach to beauty photography; correctly manipulating studio lights to highlight a subject's features for editorial, commercial and personal purposes.

Beginning with the basic principles of lighting, posing and camera settings, Rossella will progress to different lighting techniques to ensure the lighting is exactly right. Accompanied by a professional model, Rossella will demonstrate these fundamentals to produce high-end, salable beauty portraiture. In addition, you will learn how to effectively collaborate and communicate with other creatives and models to ensure you hit the brief.

Finally, in this workshop, you will have the opportunity to shoot alongside Rossella, ask questions and improve your skills.

This tutorial will cover:

• The basic principles of lighting and posing
• Creative lighting techniques
• Studio photography camera settings
• Directing models for the desired look
• Profoto lighting modifiers

About Rossella Vanon:

Rossella Vanon is a London-based beauty photographer, retoucher and educator.

Her work has appeared in international publications such as Elle, Marie Claire, L'Officiel and more. Her advertising clients include GHD, Lipsy and NYX Cosmetics. Rossella has been teaching photographers and retouchers for over a decade and is the author of the popular photography lighting book 'Lighting People'.
