Join us in-store for a studio lighting workshop with professional photographer Drew Forsyth.

He will focus on shooting commercial portraiture with a personal twist. This workshop will help you understand a creative brief alongside talking about how to stand out from other photographers. Drew will talk through how to best highlight different elements of a portrait while shooting commercially, adding story-led elements to your imagery, and using lighting to enhance your portfolio. He will discuss managing a client’s needs alongside directing and posing a professional model. He will give you some lighting tips and tricks as we go. You will have the opportunity to shoot images throughout this session.

The workshop will cover:

• Planning and prep; how to fulfil a brief, manage clients, models, hairstylists, etc.
• Commercial lighting techniques & gear requirements; budget to the best equipment with a focus on the latest in Profoto.
• Camera settings and composition.
• Getting creative with lighting; one-point, two-point and three-point lighting set ups.
• Directing models and styling.

About Drew Forsyth

Drew is a professional photographer with a knack for unique lighting set ups. His work has been featured on BBC News, The Guardian, The Times, and The Royal Photographic Society. Drew strives to create emotive, story-led imagery that talks about more than commercial aspects. He has had the privilege of working with the likes of Royal Ballet and National Ballet performers and Nobel Prize-winning scientists, entrepreneurs and world leaders.
