Join us in-store with pro photographer Kate Kirkman for a commercial food photography workshop.

Kate will begin this workshop by sharing her experience as a creative artist and discussing how to manage clients' needs. She will take you through the steps and the process of capturing a professional food project from start to finish. Her process involves how to style scenes to enhance the look on camera.

In this workshop, you will have the chance to shoot alongside Kate. She will be on hand during the session to answer your questions.

The tutorial will cover:

• Concept and Brief
• Gear and benefits of shooting Sony Mirrorless
• Importance of lens variation
• Setting up the shoot – importance of props
• Properties of natural vs artificial lights
• Getting the best out of a brief

About Kate Kirkman

Kate Kirkman (Hopewell-Smith) is a Sony Europe Imaging Ambassador and Rotolight Master of Light. She specialises in Food, Commercial, Portraits, Weddings and Boudoir and is a hybrid shooter offering both photography and videography.  She plays an active role in the photography industry, regularly giving talks, writing features for a number of magazines and has presented a 10-part series on Storytelling in Food Photography for Planet Eat TV.  Her brands include byLumiere, Kate Hopewell-Smith Photography and Create.
