Join us at Stourbridge Studios and discover how to create powerful dance portraits that capture movement, strength and personality in this practical, hands-on photography workshop. Limited to 10 places.

Stephanie will take you through her approach to photographing dancers, from understanding movement and choosing the right moment to using lighting, composition and direction to create images with impact.

We’ll look at how photographers can work effectively with dancers, including communicating what you need, refining poses and movements for camera, and recognising the small details that can make the difference between a good dance image and a great one.

Stephanie will then demonstrate her approach with a live dance photography shoot, showing how she builds the lighting, directs the dancer and adapts the shoot as different movements and ideas develop.

Then it’s your turn to photograph the dancer yourself, putting the techniques into practice and experimenting with movement, poses and lighting to create your own images.
