A discussion around the summer of sport, ranging from Wimbledon Championships to Cricket World Cup Final and The Ashes.

Marc will discuss what goes into making his work, from what his sports editor expects him to capture; the winning serve at Men's Final or winning wicket during an Ashes Test to being pushed to the limits; summing up a four day test match and an 80 minute rugby match with a single photograph that tells the whole story. 

By 'seeing' things differently and always looking for the unusual, quirky, off-beat shot, Marc’s techniques have seen him published in The Times and other publicationsHe will talk about what skills he uses and the technical aspects of those photographs.

The expert

Marc Aspland is a multiple award-winning photographer who has served as Chief Sports Photographer at The Times for thirty years. He has covered the summer Olympic Games since Barcelona 1992; multiple FIFA World Cup Finals - France '98, South Korea & Japan 2002, Germany '06 and South Africa 2010, FA Cup Finals since 1998, the Rugby World from 1991 to New Zealand in 2011; a host of Open Golf Championships, World Athletics, Formula 1, Six Nations Rugby, British & Irish Lions and far too many Wimbledon Finals to count.

His photography has earned him the honour of becoming an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain and he has been a Canon Ambassador since its inception in 2009
