Shooting branded content | Masterclass with Jim Marks and the Panasonic S1H (Edinburgh)

Join Wex Photo Video and professional filmmaker Jim Marks for a day getting to grips with the new Panasonic LUMIX S1H. This course is not only about the learning how to work with the camera, but also improving your filmmaking skills. Jim is hosting this course at the store with a local Mixologist, so there will be plenty of opportunities to capture creative action shots as if we you were creating a promotional film for the bar. Jim will introduce you to the many features and recording formats packaged into this compact 6K capable camera, including shooting with V-LOG. Covering the fundamentals of mirrorless cinematography to some more complex shooting techniques, Jim will be on hand to ensure you capture great footage throughout the day.
With an extra focus on working with LOG and LUTS, and a guide to using anamorphic lenses, this course will be suitable for a variety of skillsets.
11:00am – 12:00pm:
- Preparing and getting to grips with the LUMIX S1H
12:00pm – 2:30pm:
- Practical shooting session
- Breaking down the different shots needed for an effective sequence
- What is LOG and how to shoot with it?
- How to use monitoring tools and understanding LUTs
2:30pm - 3:00pm
- Critique and reviews

Jim Marks is a commercial photographer, director and DoP, and an avid user of the LUMIX GH series. His impressive client list includes the BBC, Channel 4, National Geographic, Virgin, Disney and ITV. He has worked alongside a number of celebrities such as Madonna, Hugh Laurie, Alesha Dixon and Rowan Atkinson.
