Rediscovering Forgotten Heritage: Seminar with Matt Emmett and Pentax
Saturday 10th November, 10am - 1pm
Matt who is a multi-award-winning photographer and Pentax Ambassador will be talking about his passion for exploring and photographing some of Europe's most at risk architectural heritage. Accompanied by examples of his own work, Matt will present a slideshow of images taken over the last six years and discuss the challenges he faces accessing the locations and capturing images.
He will also talk about planning the shoots and how he decides which shots to take with post processing and the result in mind. Matt will discuss how social media can be used to successfully boost your photography and get it seen by the people who can make a difference to your career.
Towards the end, there will be a few Photoshop demonstrations to show some of the techniques he has developed. There will also be time for you to ask any questions you may have.
In 2012, Matt Emmett was introduced to the world of architectural and historic locations photography after offering a friend an on-location photography lesson. The location turned out to be an abandoned jet engine testing establishment and he has been hooked on this fascinating bit of history and exploration ever since. Recently he has been working with heritage organisations on the recording of at-risk heritage and the restoration process. He runs a series of popular social media channels and a website called 'Forgotten Heritage'. http://www.forgottenheritage.co.uk
