Practical portraiture: A masterclass with Drew Gardner and Zeiss
Friday 17th May, 10:30am – 4:30pm
This workshop will show you how to get the very best out of your lenses and will demonstrate the advantage of Zeiss, exploring the look they give and how you can harness this in your own photography. We will be looking at some of Drew’s favourite lenses, when it is appropriate to use them and exploring how to get the very best out of the gear to give your photography an edge.
Schedule for the day
10am - Meeting at Wex Photo Video, Whitechapel there will be a ‘meet and greet’ where Drew will introduce himself and chat to you about your photographic needs and what specific skills you would like to improve on.
10:30am - A brief introduction to the lenses available to use on the day and a breakdown of what Drew uses for his work and why.
1pm - Lunch
4pm – Back at Wex Photo Video to critique and review your images from the day.
Drew Gardner (drewgardner.com) will be on-hand all day to assist you in using the lenses and helping you to develop your techniques to improve how you capture.
This workshop is aimed at people looking to better their work with models and clients, with an emphasis on lighting and how to best use your equipment.

- Your mirrorless or DSLR camera
- Spare battery
- Memory cards
- Your ticket
- Tripod (optional)
Zeiss lenses will be available on the day to borrow.
