Capturing the fleeting moment: Street meet with Stuart Beesley
Saturday 6th April, 1pm - 4pm
Beers included for those above the age of 18
"All the technique in the World doesn't compensate for the inability to notice" Elliott Erwitt
This walk will last approximately 3hrs and by the last few meters, Stu will have you closer to capturing those fleeting moments; the ones that you always notice but seem to pass your shutter by. The 250th/second that makes you realise your place in time.
The walk starts from our Wex Photo Video store in Whitechapel and ends in an unknown destination. Through some random wandering, camera tuition and logical exercises, we aim to reach our goal. It will be a relaxed affair with plenty of time to ask questions and gain the information you need while also enjoying a couple of beers.
Bring a simple camera setup (with one lens), a good pair of shoes and a large dose of intrigue.
You will need:
- Your camera + lens
- Spare battery
- Memory card
- Comfortable shoes
Stuart takes inspiration from the likes of Elliott Erwitt, Martin Parr and other greats who walked the streets armed with nothing but a good pair of shoes, a large dose of intrigue and a simple camera.
Stuart has won various awards. Namely, The Travel Photographer of the Year Awards 2010 for images gathered in China the same year. His images have featured in TimeOut London, Vogue, Homes & Gardens, Essex Life, The Guardian and various frames on his parents wall.
